Do not use expired test strips. Expired strips can give inaccurate results.
Store test strips in their original tightly capped vial. Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
Do not bend, cut, or alter test strips.
Do not reuse test strips. Each strip is for a single use.

Accuracy Check: Advise regular use of control solution to ensure the meter and strips are working correctly.
Interferences: Be aware of potential interferences (e.g., high levels of certain non-glucose sugars like maltose, or other substances) that could affect accuracy. Refer to the meter's user manual for a comprehensive list.
Dehydration: Severe dehydration or excessive water loss may cause inaccurate results.
High Altitude: High altitudes may affect test results.
Alternative Site Testing (AST) Warning: Blood glucose values from alternative sites may not reflect current blood glucose levels as quickly as fingertip samples. This is particularly important when glucose levels are changing rapidly (e.g., after a meal, exercise, or insulin dose) or when you suspect hypoglycemia. Always confirm low or rapidly changing readings with a fingertip sample.
DIRECTIONS
Before Testing:
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry completely.
Ensure the meter is clean and working properly.
Check the expiration date on the test strip vial.
Inserting the Strip:
Remove one test strip from the vial and immediately recap the vial tightly to protect the remaining strips from moisture.
Insert the test strip into the meter's test strip port. The meter will turn on and display the strip icon.
Obtaining a Blood Sample:
Use a lancing device with a fresh, sterile lancet to obtain a blood drop from the chosen test site.
Applying Blood:
Touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop. The strip will automatically draw in the blood. Do not smear the blood.
Reading Results:
The meter will display the blood glucose reading after the countdown.
Record the result in a logbook.
Disposal:
Dispose of the used test strip and lancet in an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container.
