WARNINGS
For single use only. Do not reuse lancets. Reuse can lead to infection, dulled needles, and increased pain.
Sterile unless the protective cap is removed or damaged.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
Do not share lancets. Sharing lancets can transmit infections.
Use caution when handling lancets. Accidental needle sticks can occur.
Consult a healthcare professional: Always follow the specific instructions and advice provided by your doctor, diabetes educator, or pharmacist regarding proper lancing technique and site selection.
Proper Disposal: Emphasize the importance of safe sharps disposal.
DIRECTIONS
Preparation:
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry completely.
Unscrew the cap of your lancing device.
Inserting Lancet:
Insert a new, sterile lancet firmly into the lancing device.
Twist off the protective cap from the lancet and save it (for disposal).
Replace the lancing device cap.
Obtaining Blood Sample:
Adjust the depth setting on your lancing device as recommended by your healthcare professional or the lancing device instructions.
Choose a clean, dry puncture site (often a fingertip, but alternative sites may be used with specific meters/strips and medical advice).
Place the lancing device firmly against the skin and press the release button to activate the lancet.
Gently squeeze or massage the area near the puncture site to obtain a round drop of blood. Do not squeeze excessively, as this can dilute the sample.
Disposal:
After use, carefully remove the lancet from the lancing device.
Safely recap the used lancet by pushing the exposed needle into the protective cap that was removed earlier, or by using a specific lancet disposal aid if available.
Dispose of the used, recapped lancet immediately in an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container. Do not dispose of loose lancets in household trash.
